MICRONEEDLING
Boost collagen, improve skin texture and fine lines
Service Description
Microneedling is a non-surgical treatment designed to improve skin quality by stimulating collagen and elastin production through controlled micro-injury. By creating precise channels within the skin, the treatment triggers a natural repair response, encouraging the skin to rebuild itself with stronger, more organised tissue. This process directly targets structural issues within the skin rather than masking surface concerns. As new collagen forms, the skin becomes firmer, more even, and better able to maintain its integrity over time. Microneedling is particularly effective for concerns such as acne scarring, uneven texture, enlarged pores, pigmentation, and early signs of ageing. These concerns are often linked to disrupted skin structure or irregular healing patterns. By reactivating the skin’s repair mechanisms, microneedling helps to normalise how the skin regenerates, leading to visible improvement in texture, tone, and clarity. The treatment also improves the delivery of active ingredients applied during the procedure. The micro-channels allow these ingredients to penetrate deeper into the skin, where they can support targeted repair, hydration, and pigmentation control more effectively than topical application alone. A detailed consultation is carried out prior to treatment to assess skin condition, severity of concerns, and treatment suitability. Microneedling can be adapted in depth and intensity depending on the area being treated and the specific concern, ensuring a controlled and appropriate approach for each individual. The procedure typically takes 30–45 minutes, depending on the treatment area. A topical numbing cream is applied beforehand to ensure comfort. During the treatment, a controlled device is used to create uniform micro-injuries across the skin. Mild redness and sensitivity are expected immediately after, similar to a light sunburn, and usually settle within 24–72 hours. Results develop progressively as collagen production increases. Initial improvements in skin texture and brightness may be visible within a few weeks, with more significant changes occurring over time as deeper structural repair takes place. A course of treatments is recommended for optimal results. Most individuals require: 3–6 sessions, spaced 4-6 weeks apart. The exact number depends on the concern being treated. Maintenance treatments can be carried out every few months to support ongoing skin quality and collagen production.
