POLYNUCLEOTIDES in South Woodford
Under-eye rejuvenation, dark circles & full-face skin repair

Polynucleotides are one of the most effective regenerative treatments available for the delicate under-eye area — addressing dark circles, hollowness, crepiness and fine lines that most treatments can't reliably reach. Unlike dermal fillers, they don't add volume artificially. Instead they work at a cellular level, repairing and regenerating the skin from within by stimulating your own collagen and elastin production.

At our South Woodford clinic, polynucleotides are one of our most requested treatments — particularly for clients who have tried everything for their under eyes and not seen results. The difference is that this treatment targets the root cause: thinning, damaged skin that has lost its structure and density. Given the right course of treatment, the results are quietly transformative.

To make your treatment journey seamless, we offer a range of payment options on treatments of £300 or more.

Why the under-eye area is so difficult to treat

The skin under your eyes is the thinnest on your face — roughly 0.5mm compared to 2mm elsewhere. This makes it uniquely vulnerable to collagen loss, dehydration, and damage. It's also why most skincare products, however expensive, make little difference — they simply can't penetrate deeply enough to address what's happening at a structural level.

Dark circles are rarely just a pigmentation issue. In most cases they're caused by a combination of skin thinning (which makes the underlying blood vessels more visible), volume loss (which creates a hollow shadow), and poor microcirculation. Polynucleotides address all three — rebuilding skin density, improving microcirculation, and restoring the structural integrity that makes the under-eye area look rested and healthy again.

What to expect from your treatment course

A course of three sessions spaced four weeks apart is recommended for optimal results. This timeline allows each session to build on the last as collagen production is progressively stimulated.

Session 1 — initial regenerative response begins. The skin starts producing new collagen and elastin. Some clients notice improved hydration within the first week.

Session 2 — skin density visibly improves. The under-eye area begins to look smoother and less hollow. Dark circle intensity typically reduces as microcirculation improves.

Session 3 — the most significant changes are usually visible by this point. Skin looks firmer, more rested and noticeably healthier. Results continue to develop for up to six weeks after the final session.

Maintenance treatments every four to six months help sustain and build on your results long term.

Every course at Glow Face Aesthetic begins with a thorough skin consultation — either a free online video call or a £50 in-clinic assessment, fully redeemable against your first treatment. Kristina will assess your specific concerns and confirm whether polynucleotides are the right approach for your skin before you commit to anything.

What polynucleotides treat — under-eye and beyond

  • While the under-eye area is where polynucleotides produce the most dramatic and visible results, the treatment is highly effective across the full face, neck and décolletage. At Glow Face Aesthetic we treat:

  • Under-eye concerns — dark circles, under-eye bags, hollowness, crepiness, fine lines and thinning skin beneath the eyes

  • Full face — loss of skin density and firmness, dull or tired-looking skin, fine lines, dehydration and early signs of skin ageing

  • Neck and décolletage — crepey skin, fine lines and loss of elasticity in areas often neglected by other treatments

  • Sensitive and reactive skin — polynucleotides are anti-inflammatory and exceptionally well tolerated, making them one of the few regenerative treatments suitable for compromised or sensitive skin

  • Each treatment is tailored to your specific concerns. Some clients focus entirely on the under-eye area; others combine under-eye and full-face treatment within the same session.

Polynucleotides vs other under-eye treatments

  • Clients often come to us having tried other approaches first. Here's how polynucleotides compare:

  • vs tear trough filler — tear trough filler adds volume beneath the eye using hyaluronic acid. It can give immediate results but carries higher risks in this delicate area and isn't suitable for everyone — particularly those with thin skin or existing hollowness. Polynucleotides rebuild the skin itself rather than filling beneath it, making them a safer and often more appropriate first-line treatment for the under-eye area.

  • vs eye creams — topical products cannot penetrate to the depth where structural skin changes occur. They can support and maintain but cannot regenerate. Polynucleotides work at a dermal level where real change happens.

  • vs PRP — both PRP and polynucleotides are regenerative treatments. PRP uses your own growth factors and is excellent for overall skin quality. Polynucleotides are more targeted and precise for the under-eye area specifically, with stronger clinical evidence for this particular concern. Many clients benefit from combining both over time.

POLYNUCLEOTIDES FAQ

What are polynucleotides?

Polynucleotides are purified DNA fragments derived from fish DNA (salmon or trout) that have regenerative properties. They stimulate collagen and elastin production, improve skin density and hydration, support cellular repair, and have strong anti-inflammatory effects. They are bio-compatible and well tolerated by virtually all skin types.

Can polynucleotides get rid of dark circles completely?

For dark circles caused by skin thinning, hollowness or poor microcirculation — which is the majority of cases — polynucleotides can make a very significant difference over a course of treatment. Results vary depending on the underlying cause. At your consultation Kristina will assess what's driving your dark circles and give you an honest picture of what to expect.

When will I see results?

Hydration and a general improvement in skin quality can be noticeable within seven to ten days of your first session. The most significant improvements — particularly in the under-eye area — develop progressively over the three-session course, with results continuing to build for up to six weeks after your final treatment.

Does the treatment hurt?

Discomfort is mild and short-lived. Fine needles are used throughout and a topical numbing cream is applied beforehand if needed. Most clients find the under-eye area the most sensitive part of the treatment — but very manageable.

Can polynucleotides be combined with other treatments?

Yes, and combination approaches often give the best results. Polynucleotides pair particularly well with microneedling with exosomes, Profhilo, and skin boosters for enhanced skin quality. Your treatment plan will be designed around your specific goals and budget.

Why are polynucleotides particularly good for under eyes?

The under-eye area has uniquely thin, delicate skin that is difficult to treat effectively with most approaches. Polynucleotides rebuild skin density at a structural level — improving the thickness, quality and microcirculation of the skin rather than simply filling beneath it. This makes them one of the most effective and safe treatments available for dark circles, crepiness and under-eye hollowness.

How many sessions do I need?

A course of three sessions spaced four weeks apart is recommended for the under-eye area and full face. Some clients with more significant concerns benefit from a fourth session. Maintenance treatments every four to six months help sustain results.

Is there any downtime?

Downtime is minimal. Small raised bumps at the injection points typically settle within three to six hours. Some clients experience mild swelling around the under-eye area for 24 to 48 hours, particularly after the first session. Most clients return to normal activities immediately.

Is polynucleotide treatment safe for the under-eye area?

Yes. Polynucleotides are one of the safest treatments available for the under-eye area. Because they work by stimulating your skin's own regenerative processes rather than introducing volume, the risk profile is significantly lower than dermal fillers in this delicate area. All treatments at Glow Face Aesthetic are delivered within full medical governance.

What is the difference between the under-eye and full-face treatment?

The under-eye treatment focuses on the periorbital area — beneath and around the eyes — targeting dark circles, crepiness and hollowness. The full-face treatment covers a broader area to improve overall skin density, hydration and firmness. Some clients treat both areas within the same session. Kristina will advise the most appropriate approach at your consultation.
