Service Description
Lipolysis is a medical procedure aimed at removing local fat deposits. Treatment consists of injecting deoxycholic acid into the double chin. Deoxycholic acid is an acid that occurs naturally in the human body: it helps dissolve fat in water. Lipolysis not only dissolves fat, it also tightens the skin. Upon injection of deoxycholic acid fat cells break down. This then releases the fat inside the cells, which is subsequently transported via the bloodstream to the liver, where it is fully dissolved. This full process takes two to three weeks.
